We began planting a forest in our back yard 35 years ago; and we were lucky to hook up with Fred Frye, at Vintage Tree Care, when maintenance issues have arisen. He has saved two of our trees by bolting a cabling when damage was visible; and both are doing beautifully — one of them 12 years later. When one of his guys caused some minor damage to our hot tub cover, he immediately took responsibility and made it good. Honest, professional, knowledgable. They don’t come any better than “Fred Frye, the Tree Guy.”
Simply an excellent experience, all the way around. Fred came by and gave an estimate to do some thinning, shaping and trimming of the Japanese Maples and two fruit trees in our small back yard. The trimming, thinning and shaping were easily handled onsite by Fred, with his crew. They also planted a Fuyu persimmon where one Maple had to be removed. The work was done without a misstep, the debris completely removed, and the trees look splendid. The new persimmon is thriving, and looks grand. It’s hard to overstate our great experience with such a highly qualified Arborist and business owner, and crew. We are very pleased with the Vintage Tree Care professionals. Thanks as well to Kym (and now Emma), in the office, for fielding my calls and keeping us informed and on schedule. I can definitely recommend them, without reservation.

I’m so grateful for Fred’s help. He saved my cat who got stuck very high up in a tree. It was a desperate situation. Fred came to the rescue knowing exactly what to do and calmly explained the process of what to expect. He was confident and competent climbing the tree with agility using a halter strap. He reached the cat and was able to secure him into a canvas bag and lower him safely towards me to the ground. Fred was so calm and reassuring the whole time. Fred is AWESOME and I highly recommend him. Thank you FRED for saving my FREDDIE!!
Truely Skilled Arborists! Fred came by and bid the job and was so clear and open to answering all our questions, even the Springtime question: “What if there is a bird’s nest in the branch?” “We won’t cut it,” he said. Kym too was professional and friendly on the phone. We had a bad experience with another company “pollarding” an old Ash tree and it hurt to look at it when they had finished. But Fred and his great crew thoughtfully took out deadwood and judiciously pruned with real know-how. Their clean up was excellent also. Highly recommended.
Best Tree Service we have ever had! We have been delighted with Fred, Kym, and all their happy crew for over 3 years now. We met with other tree companies when we first met Fred, but Fred was the best – far and beyond the rest! He listened to my wife and my needs; he found solutions that worked for both us and him. If you read the other reviews and see that Fred saved multiple cats from trees, I’d like to confirm that Fred has a heart of gold. We have used Vintage Tree Care on several occasions to remove trees that were too close to our home and our neighbor’s home. The team was super fast and I was amazed at how safe I felt about how they sectioned off the trees, and I love to worry about things! Fred is very knowledgeable about trees of all types. He knows how to prune a fruit tree, every type from citrus to stone. He knows the whole myriad of tree species and the bureaucracy of laws that must be followed while working on them. He is even humble enough to admit he will double check a fact if he is unsure, what a guy! Fred and Kym deserve some huge praise for running a great company!
We called Fred when our kitten was stuck in a tree for over 24 hours. The site was difficult to access, on a creek bank, 30+ feet high in a thin/weak tree. (The fire department took a look and said they were unable to help.) Fred came out on short notice, in the RAIN and rescued the kitten in minutes. We are so grateful! Thank you, Fred.

We have several black oak trees that needed trimming. Fred and his crew did an outstanding trimming the trees and cleaned up the whole yard after. It looks like we live in a park with all our trees trimmed! Jim
You have to know that Fred has a big heart. Our cat, Rosie, had run about 50 feet up a tree. We tried coaxing her down for 2 days. In desperation, we called and left a message for Fred. He returned our call and had Rosie back in our arms in less than 4 hours. We are forever grateful!
